A 501(c)(3) nonprofit

Medicine for the mountains they'd otherwise walk past.

Mountains 4 Medicine delivers clinical care, trains local health workers, and stocks rural facilities across Uganda's hardest-to-reach regions. We believe healing is practical and hope is a habit.

Our mission

We go where the clinic ends, and the road does too.

Remote Uganda is beautiful and unforgiving. Rural patients often walk four or more hours for a clinic visit that should be thirty minutes. We shorten that walk by equipping facilities, training the workers already there, and holding clinics in the mountains for everyone else.

Every program we run balances two commitments: clinical excellence and the deep spiritual care we believe belongs in every healing relationship. We partner with Sports Outreach Institute and DAVENPORT so our work is sustained by people who live in the communities we serve — not delivered to them from abroad.

What we do

Three programs, built around the reality of rural medicine.

01

Mobile clinics

Seasonal clinics in mountainous villages where the nearest facility is a day's walk. Communicable disease screening, maternal health, pediatrics.

02

Facility partnership

We equip and supply 15+ existing rural clinics so they can keep operating through the shoulder seasons between rainy and dry.

03

Worker training

CPD modules, preceptorship, and small hardship grants for Ugandan nurses, midwives, and clinical officers in the communities we serve.

"The nurse from M4M came the day my daughter was born. There was no clinic in our village that day — she carried the oxygen up the hill herself. That is why she walks with me now on every trip."
